Saturday Mall Hopping

11/29/08

T'was a long day. T'was tiring but fun. The highlight: a new tote bag! Yey. Let me do this in bullet form, because I'm not in the mood to stitch long paragraphs tonight :):

  • Went to Gold's Gym at Intercon Hotel to pick up my gym ID but unfortunately it's not ready yet. Sheesh. But it's ok.
  • Went to SM Megamall. Plan was to buy a good rubber shoes. But I ended up buying a tote bag for my Pinkeroo HP (work) laptop instead. It's cute, I swear. I don't regret if it's pricey, I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. :D
  • Browsed through dozens of stuff at the Department Store. Really, I so love window shopping! Good thing I don't have credit card or else.. tsk tsk. Haha
  • Went to Shang. Ate at Tender Bob's. Yummy porterhouse steak. Hmmmm.
  • Found a couple of stuff at Human and Herbench. Heeee
  • Saw the Belle de Jour power planner at Powerbooks. I want one.
  • Went to Gateway.
  • Saw a fireworks display at Araneta Center. It wasn't as awesome as the ones in MOA but a firework display nonetheless. I took the time to stop and be captivated for some minutes. I awed there like a little kid. I like it, really. And t'was light in the heart.
  • Sat down with a Dark Cherry Mocha at Starbucks. A little contemplation took place. Not really serious stuff, you know. phbbt.
  • I want a new blog. Some fashionable IT girl blog.
  • I'm going to revive my Happies blog. It deserve some lovin', lol. But seriously, I am reviving the happy blog. I need happies. :)
  • Yun lang.
Goodnight, folks!:)

Pressure. And. Distraction

11/26/08

Pressure. It’s only present when you question your own abilities, when you question your judgments, when you question your own self.

Distraction. It’s only present when you want to run away from the realities that are being presented to you, especially if these are your own inadequacies.

Happiness is a Choice, Agree?

11/19/08

Happiness is the decision I make every morning I wake up. Happiness is something I choose in advance. Whether or not I like the room does not depend on the furniture, or the decor - rather it depends on how I decide to see it. I wish I could really apply this to real, crazy, nerve wracking everyday life experiences.

Remember these simple guidelines for happiness:
1. Free your heart from hate.
2. Free your mind from worry.
3. Live simple.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

You know what I did last weekend?

11/10/08

Forgive the lame title.

My eyes are freakin' hurting. I slept twelve full hours with the contacts on yesterday. I forgot to remove it. Really, it's not healthy, I know.

I dreamt a lot yesterday. Oh before that, let me tell you why I was sleeping the whole day of Sunday:  I haven't slept a single second last Saturday night.

About the dream, yes, it's very vivid that I really thought it was real. I was in a real assasin type of suit, sitting behind a steering wheel, wearing a black cap or something, and staring boldly at a family who just left a church. It's quite disappointing actually because it felt like I was one of Charlie's angels or the sexy assasin in So Close (some Asian action movie) and I did nothing but sit and stare - no cool stuff like guns and stunts, and killings and blood. I wish there were goons coming out of a van and will try to kidnap the children and then I will come to their rescue and the goons will be so agitated with my fighting strength that they will kill the mother instead of kidnapping the children, and yeah, the father will just stand there throughout the whole ordeal because they were too coward to make even the slightest move. Awesome, isn't it? /dignose

Movies. I hate them. They can really get to my head. Heeee.

Barack Obama elected US President

11/5/08

I am not a fan of US politics and government stuff but yeah, I think it's worth note-taking that the United States had just elected their 44th president (and also the first ever African American US president) - Barack Obama. Really, this is an instantly historical moment, not just for the US itself but for the whole world as well - a very positive one.

Election of an African American as the new US president does not equate to "hey we just had gotten rid of racism in this friggin world" but it's a good start of what these political and social people call "the long national process of healing".

So I guess people in some parts of the world are celebrating this election of Obama as the US President. But let us be realistic, in a short while, this happy hangover will not linger too long because the realities of politics will soon assert itself.

Anyhoo, check Obama's Democratic Convention Speech [Video and Text].

Short Update

I am broke since two weeks ago. I was never effective on managing finances. I am so screwed because salary is on monthly basis. YES. Once a month. Every tenth. It was like being a millionaire for the first week and going hungry for the next three. LOL. Good thing I have blogs that generate income once in a while. Really, thanks to my Caiabbass.i.ph blog I survived yet another mooonies-deprived week. Yehey. Sweldo na sa Friday. Wooooot.

Anyhoo, I just had my first Starbucks sticker ( for the planner, yes ). :D I like the Dark Cherry Mocha frappe. Will be trying the Toffee Nut Latte before the week ends.

Another anyhoo, I haven't written a post about the Clear Black Night event yet. Will be doing that when schedule permits. Also, will blog soon about the night out with Jehz and Mica last Saturday (when schedule permits, too). For now, browse through these cute photos we took. :D

Starbucks Planner 2009

11/3/08

Collection of Starbucks stickers for the Starbucks Planner 2009 will start on November 4. I am personally excited about it. This year, planner enthusiast need only to complete 16 stickers ( last year was 20 something stickers, I can't remember). Also, coffee aficionados should watch out for the christmas coffee blend Starbucks prepared.

Scavenger Hunt

11/1/08

Forgive the title. It's six in the morning and I haven't given myself a decent sleep.

I was cleaning my hard disk earlier (because I need to reformat the lappie) and found some interesting files hidden away. One of those is a textfile containing some Blogthings quizzes:

What color bikini should you wear?
You should wear a yellow bikini.
Like the sun, you radiate warmth and brighten up everyone's day.
And while a yellow bikini is a bit strange, you have the perky personality to wear one!
When It Come to Men, Are you a Player?
The only thing you play is Cool
It's not that you don't have the skills to juggle a few men
Nope, you just lack the desire.
You prefer dating to be a simple one on one process.
No games, no other people, no drama - just you and the guy you're getting to know.
What AdvancedDegrees Should You Get
You Should Get a MFA (Masters in Fine Arts)
You're a blooming artistic talent, even if you aren't quite convinced.
You'd make an incredible artist, photographer, or film maker.

Are You Bipolar?
You are 96% bipolar.
You have some serious ups and downs, maybe to the point of endangering your own life.
Consult a doctor to see if you may truly have bipolar disorder.
Are You Impulsive?
You are 56% impulsive.
You're quite impulsive, but you never are reckless.
You qualify as a very spontaneous person, but you still know how to honor your commitments.
And while responsibility doesn't come easy to you, having fun does!

You didn't actually read that, did you?
